Thanks for visiting MyDCKid.com! Here is a little info about me and why I started this site…
At 6 months pregnant, I started to look into “mommy & me” activities for my daughter and I in the DC area. I had lots of time on my hands and between registering, preparing the nursery, and awaiting my next OB appointment I thought I would start looking into fun things we could do when my little girl arrived. Unfortunately, I did not find much information and the information I did find was piecemeal. It was then that I came up with the idea of a one-stop-shop site with DC area kid friendly activities and businesses for moms like me (ok and dads too!). As Memorial Day rolls around, the sun is shining and we are ready to get out there…so I thought this would be the perfect time to kick it off. Possible future topics include: area preschools, birthday partiy ideas, green friendly products, playgroups, area events, product reviews, area sales and special promotions and more. All baby/kid related, of course. I hope you will sign up to follow my posts and I encourage you to contact me with feedback and ideas. Parenthood is the adventure of a lifetime and time is a luxury, so I hope this site helps you find the most fun, affordable DC area activities and products in a jiffy (yes, I just said jiffy) 
And as side note, my posts are meant as a resource for area info, not necessarily recommendations!
